Dark Chocolate · Dried Plum · Brown Sugar · Lime
From the highlands of Aceh Tengah, Sumatra, this Fairtrade Organic coffee is produced by Wagiman and Yasmin, two growers committed to farming in a way that supports the land for the long term.
Their farms use natural fertilizers—including coffee husks and cow manure—to build soil fertility. At roughly 1,400–1,450 meters, they grow Gayo 1 and Gayo 2, varieties closely associated with the coffee-growing traditions of the region.
The coffee is processed using Giling Basah, or wet hulling, a method shaped by Indonesia’s humid climate and central to the distinctive character of Sumatran coffee.
In the cup, expect dark chocolate and brown sugar up front, followed by dried plum, a subtle herbal quality, and a touch of lime-like brightness.
